LAND OF THE GODS AND THE COSMIC MOUNTAIN

ARARAT...ARATTA --The Land of the Mountains Where the Gods Live of the great Epic of Gilgamesh. The Land where the Garden of Eden -- the Tree of Life and the Tree of Wisdom is located...the Twin peaks of Mashu  - the SYMBOL of the holy Cosmic Mountain. When many of us hear this name we picture the birth and rebirth of humanity and human civilization in the sacred land in the highlands of ARMANIA. The Bible also recounts the ancient stories of Genesis, including the Paradise [Birth of Humanity] and also the Rebirth of Humanity in the sacred Mountains of the Land of Ararat, the holy land where the resurrection of the human race took place. The Twin Peaks of Mount Ararat are in the heart of Armenia, and from a bipolar geographical objective one can argue that of the world. They are symbolic of the Holy Mountains of the Land of Aratta/Ararat/Ararad [Kuti-Guti-mountain range in the Sumerian inscriptions and the Al-Judi of the later Islamic writings]  -- the location of Ararad in the Korduk Province in the southern section of the Armenian Plateau [The Twin Peak Masis in the Ayrarat Province being the SYMBOL of Armenia-Ararat -- Land of the Holy Mountains]. Since times immemorial Ararat [also Ayrarat in Armenian sources, Aratta in Sumerian inscriptions, Urartu in Assyrian inscriptions and Ararat in Hebrew sources] has been a Holy Mountain and a Holy land for the peoples of the ancient world. The Sumerians that were of Armenid extraction had established one of the first centers of civilization in the lower part of Mesopotamia. Many scholars agree that Sumerians initially inhabited Armenian Highland and gradually descended to first Northern Mesopotamia and eventually spread further south, establishing the cities of Ur [excavated by Sir Leonard Wooley in the 1920s], Uruk and Eridu [note the sacred variations -- AR-UR-ER-OR prefix]. Fortunately a number of Sumerian inscriptions dating from somewhere between 2750 and 2500 BC have been preserved. They give us a fascinating glimpse into the Sumerian origins and culture. In the great Epic of Gilgamesh, the Sumerians recount the land of their ancestors, the Arattans in the Highlands of Armenia. Most scholars agree that Aratta [Suburi - Sumerians also known as Suberians and called themselves Shinar[ar]s] was in fact the first Indo-European state that existed in the first half of the third millennium BC.

The Epic of Gilgamesh written ca. 2,700 BC, tells us the story of the Great Flood and the rebirth of Life [the Tree of Life or the Garden [PARTEZ - PARADISE - the main motif in the Armenian-Hurrian Mitanni and Araratian reliefs] of Eden located in Armenia - the Land of Four Rivers [Land of Nairi literary means the Land of Waters and Fire - that is symbolic of the Armenian Highland of many rivers and lakes and the fiery volcanic mountains] - with Tigris and Euphrates originating in the sacred highlands and flowing downward to south thus nourishing and giving Life to the land between the two rivers and the Fertile Crescent that is otherwise surrounded by scorching deserts]. Son of Haya, was Dumuzi [the Shepherd King] symbolic of the sacred -- ORION -- in the Armenian priestly astrology representative of Hay[a]k -- Child of God HAYA-EA [Ēut'iwn].

The Armenian Temple City of Urha-Orrheone [later Urfa] being one of the most important ancient centers of the solar cult of Orion [Hayk] renowned throughout the ancient world. The Armenic Sumerians used the ancient name Uru-anna [lit. the Light of Heaven]. In Armenia, the same place as described in the Bible as being where Nimrod [Nemrut'] built his major cities we find the origin of the celestial cult of Orion. So it is not a coincidence that we find in the immediate vicinity of this holy sanctity in Armenian Highland the remnants of the first temple in human history carbon dated to 9,000 BC! The oldest known name of Edessa was actually the ancient Armenian name -- Ourhai, which is very close to our modern "Orion." Furthermore, the name of the province of Edessa was originally called Orrheone. Adrian Gilbert explains in Magi: The Quest for a Secret Tradition: "Given that there is strong evidence there was an Armenian Orion [Ori-On] Cult at Edessa, the similarity between the words Orrheonis and Orionis is such as to suggest that it was from here that the Greek Orion [Or - gold in Latin -- the metal of the gods] cult had its origins."

The Epic of Gilgamesh [written down on the clay tablets circa 2,000 BC, but the events describe much earlier period somewhere around 2,700 BC] focuses on the journey of Gilgamesh, King of Uruk, to the land of his ancestors and the Holy Mountain Mashu [Masion or Masis] -- the Holy Cosmic Mountain that serves as a connecting point of finite with -- the Infinite...a portal to Eternity. The Sumerians note that the their ancestors the Arattans - from AR-AR-AT. AR-AR [Ararich -- the Creator] being a plural form or the Supreme God, while AT being an archaic version of the Armenian word hat, which means "a piece of." Thus Ararat meant a "piece of gods, or a piece of creation." According to the Sumerian inscriptions, the Arratan ancestors established a divine Kingdom and civilization, and ultimately carried it to the four corners of the world -- including among others the Sumerian cities of Ur and Uruk. The inscriptions also tell us that the Arattans were outstanding horsemen -- the tradition of the Armenian warrior horsemen [the Ayrudzi] would continue down the many millennia, distinguishing itself in the battlefields throughout the centuries, from the Kingdom of Ararat, to the wars with the Achemenids, Parthians, Romans, Persians, Byzantines, the Turks and onward.

The Armenid Sumerians' primary deity was the amphibious God EA-HAYA [the name Hay -- pronounced HIGH, the name that the Armenian people call themselves after their deity of the Divine Essence, it is interesting to note here that the only ancient people, besides the Armenians, that called Armenians -- Hay[asa], were the Hittites, it is highly probable that the Indo-European Hittites were also Armenian in origin], the God of Wisdom with the appearance of a half-man half-fish [fish considered the symbol of the primordial union of the Mother-Father duality - initially, during the matriarchal -- hunters and gatherers -- era HAYA-Eye [Enki] was a female principle -- AYA - the Mother Goddess and around 3,000 BC with the coming of the patriarchal era transforming into a male deity -- the All-Father]. This is story of a mysterious old Man who came out of the sea found the world over -- including in such distance lands as that of Maya -- where he is known as the feathered serpent God [riding on a raft of serpents] KukulkAN [roughly similar to Quetzalcoatl of the Aztecs].

end of the obelisk contains carvings of planetary rings
and the swastika [representative of Life and the great Generative Power

the Armenian alphabet -- E also revered by the Delphic oracles as
 the most sacred and divine [second person of the present of the
indicative of the verb ειμι 'you are being' and just like in Armenia,
thousands of years before, was the salutation used by the high priests as they
entered the sacred Temple -- represented with fifth letter E [the Quintessence]

THE SEPTENARY PLANETARY CYCLE

Metsamor was a very important center of ancient civilization where among astrological observatories and temples were found the first iron smelting refineries. The Metsamor observatory recorded data based on the observation of the Orion belt [including Sirius and Orion - Hayk, also the word Orient -- the Sun rising in the East -- comes from Orion]. According to the renowned British scholar Gordon Child, the Armenians of Metsamor kept the secret of Iron [along with other revolutionary breakthroughs in very important fields like mathematics, geometry and astronomy] for nearly half a millennium and would use their iron weapons and horses to dominate most of the Near East and beyond.  The holy name of the God of Ēut'iwn -- Divine Essence [Ē - The One - Oan - On [Egypt] - An -- Na [He/She] and -- An-un--naki [cuneiform inscriptions - gods from heaven to earth]... the Beginning...and the End...the Zenith...the Apex...Infinity, the underlying unmanifest controlling the manifest], later symbolically represented with the 7th [the seven visible luminaries of the time -- the Sun, the Moon and the 5 planets, also the quarter moon period of the lunar month [28 days] and the "seventh day moon" - the symbolic pattern of 7 prevalent throughout the Metsamor inscriptions increases in doubles thus 7 - 14 - 28 - 56 -- 2 lunar months - 364 days -- 12 [union of monad and dyad -- unity and duality -- total containing sacred 3, 5,  7 and 9 or = 3x3 = 9+3=12 -- this forms the basis of the ancient Armenian duodecimal philosophy employed by the seers and astrologers of Metsamor] months in the solar year and 13 months [30 and 31 days in the solar] in the lunar also adding to 364 -- 360.72 +5 via Ram constellation of Metsamor records = 365 days, the Metsamor solar-lunar calendar being far ahead of the Egyptian and Babylonian astral calendars of the period] sacred letter of the original 36 [full circle] character Armenian Alphabet   --  -- pronounced similar to the English letter - A - the first letter of the alphabet and also  - Ē - the fifth letter of the alphabet - the Quintessence] the symbol carried over from the pre-Christian, well into the Christian period and to our own days.
